Kuat Piston SR Roof 1 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Piston SR Roof Bike Rack on our 2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness. So this might be a good option for you if you have something in your hitch already, if you don't have a hitch, or you just wanna store a bike on your roof rack. This is capable of holding a bike up to 67 pounds, and you'll save some room for other accessories on your crossbars. The SR holds onto our bike with this dual-wheel mounting structure, so it's not making any frame contact which is nice. In the event that you want to transport a carbon frame bike, you can do that. more

Malone Roof Bike Racks Review - 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Malone Pilot roof mounted bike rack on a 2022 Subaru Outback wagon Wilderness. This is gonna be a great way of transporting your bicycle especially if you don't have a hitch or anything like that. It is a front wheel mount, which I like because I don't have to worry about damaging a carbon frame style bike or having to worry about a custom paint or any of the odd shaped style frames. We're gonna have three attachment points holding the bike on the rack, a strap for each tire, and then the front wheel mount. Has a weight capacity of 33 pounds, just make sure to not exceed that. And the cradles do adjust left and right to accommodate those different wheel base sizes. more

Inno Roof Bike Racks Review - 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hey everyone, Charles here at the etrailer and today we're taking a look at the INNO Tire Hold Roof-Mounted Bike Rack on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon Wilderness. So this is gonna be a dual tire-mounted bike rack which is gonna be great especially for those carbon frame style bikes, custom paint or odd shape style bike frames, because you're being held on by the tires. It's gonna be made out of aluminum and finished with a black powder coat, making it durable and rust resistant as well. To take the bike on and off is really simple compared to a lot of the other roof bike racks that I've worked on. So your main contact points are just these two wheel mounts and keeping a hand on the bike we can, after we unlock it, lift up on this latch and that is going to loosen up the back tire hole, but make sure you have a good grip because right now your bike is free and all we have to do is wheel it behind and grab it up and take it off the bike. To put it on, we're gonna start with the front wheel and then all we have to do is lift this up just a little bit, lock that into place and now all we have to do is, roll it forward until it stops clicking. more

I would like to point out though, this does not have a lock to secure your bike rack to your roof rack. It does have wheel cradles on either side that can slide back and forth to accommodate bikes of different sizes. The wheel cradle here is adjustable back and forth as well, by loosening up the bolts on either side, and sliding it back and forth to accommodate wider wheel width. And while we do have a road bike on here, this will also fit mountain bikes, and fat bikes with an additional strap that you would have to replace. With everything installed as it is, we're not going to have an issue of clearance, between our rear hatch and the bike rack, as you can see here, there's plenty of space in between. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Subaru Forester

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester, we are going to be doing a test fit of the Yakima Front Loader, this is a roof mounted wheel clamp style bike rack, part number on it is Y02103. Now we've already got the Yakima Rail Grab system that we've installed in the Forester here, we'll begin our test fit by just placing the rack right up onto the crossbars here. At the front there is a large black T handle, as that is tighten down, it draws the rear portion of the clamp forward, we'll have, let me show you quickly here, the two outer clamps got to the front, the rear clamp goes to the back and as you tighten it, that comes together. It's really is one of the easiest clamps I think that there is on the market as far as getting the front done, really easy to get on there, wait till it makes contact, give it a couple of good turns and really guys it's all there is to it, nice and secure. Now we can come around to the rear here and we'll clamp the other way or strap other way. As you can see we've got a two piece clamp here, we need to first remove that T bolt, pull that down through the slot, it's going to allow us to separate that lower portion, that will come out completely. This is going to give us one, two and three different positions to start that clamp in with the round bars, I usually use that first one and get this close, as close as we can get to start. more
